Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, George Papanastasiou will converse with Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates in the framework of the Investopia Global Mediterranean conference which will be held in Limassol on Tuesday.
The two Ministers will participate in a roundtable discussion titled “Bridges of Prosperity: Unlocking Synergies between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Eastern Mediterranean,” at the conference that will be held at the Park Lane hotel in Limassol.
Also participating in the conference will be Deputy Minister of Tourism, Costas Koumis, Greece’s Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, Lebanon’s Minister of Tourism, Laura Khazen Lahoud; and the newly elected Shaikha Al Nowais, Secretary-General of UN Tourism. The topic of the discussion is the role of tourism in economic development and human connectivity.
The conference will also highlight Cyprus’s role as a business hub connecting three continents, the UAE’s connections with the Mediterranean in the investment sector, developments in banking and digital economy, and the importance of investments in electricity and water infrastructure.
Furthermore, as the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) has learned, during his visit, the UAE Minister of Economy is expected to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Constantinos Kombos, the Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Costas Koumis.
