Cyprus-based Aloha Browser has unveiled new global research that reveals a widespread struggle with digital overload and its adverse effects on focus, productivity and mental wellbeing.

According to the study, 71 per cent of respondents admitted they often begin an online task but soon become distracted by tabs, notifications or links, eventually losing sight of their original goal.

The research, titled Digital Information Consumption and conducted in the second quarter of 2025, surveyed 1,000 participants globally.

It found that 65 per cent of people feel overwhelmed by the vast amount of information online.

Nearly half of the participants reported feeling stressed when they miss out on something important.

Approximately 60 per cent of people receive notifications for content they do not care about more than once every hour.

What is more, a significant 30 per cent receive such notifications every 15 minutes or more frequently.

Almost 30 per cent of respondents said they typically keep more than 10 tabs open at once.

At the end of the day, 64 per cent reported that they feel they did not accomplish something important, such as spending time with loved ones or engaging in hobbies and exercise.

“Technologies are meant to help people cope with digital overload, stay focused, decrease stress, and organise smart information consumption,” said Andrew Frost Moroz, the Founder of Aloha Browser.

“In response to our users’ requests, with 58 per cent of respondents being interested in using an AI tool that helps them stay updated and have at their fingertips the information that matters to them, today we are releasing Snips for iOS, which follows the Snips for desktops launch earlier this year,” he added.

Moroz further stated that “Snips paves the way for a new human-centric browsing experience, shifting the paradigm from digital resources showing users content that algorithms think they need to a model that empowers users to act as their own algorithms.”

Snips is a web-snipping tool available on desktop and iOS, with an Android version expected in the coming weeks.

It offers intelligent live screenshots that proactively monitor web updates for the specific content a user selects.

Snips delivers these updates in a streamlined vertical feed, enabling users to stay informed only about what they care about.

The tool is designed to help people escape digital noise, reduce distractions, and improve mental clarity.

Snips aims to eliminate unnecessary browsing, ease information stress, and simplify daily digital routines.

It enables users to engage with content on their own terms, acting as a self-curated algorithm.

It should be mentioned that Aloha Browser, founded in 2015 and based in Cyprus, has long championed digital privacy and freedom.
