Police conducted a coordinated operation in Ayia Napa on Tuesday evening aimed at combating sexual exploitation, which led to the discovery of nine cases of illegal employment.
“Members of the Office for Combating Human Trafficking interviewed 31 individuals without any indications of victimisation,” police said in a statement.
However, the investigation identified nine instances of illegal work, for which extrajudicial fines were issued.
Authorities said the operation formed part of broader efforts to tackle sexual exploitation in the area.
